The premise of this four-person project was to create a high-end quarterly magazine that would focus on the culture of Sacramento, shown through five rotating topics. Those topics were Music, Community, Design, Art, and Food and Drink.
My group chose Design as our magazine’s topic. We were to secure at least three interviews with people in the design community of Sacramento, write at least two articles on events or developments in that community, and create three ads that were relevant to the topic we had.
All of the writing and photography inside the magazine had to be our own. This was achieved through dividing the tasks of writing the articles, transcribing the interviews, and splitting the photography needed for the magazine. Once we had a base pool of content in both the writing and the photography, we would then each go and design our own magazine based off the pool of content we generated.
